EXPLANATION ABOUT FREEBORD

LEARNING TO RIDE

Beginner, you need to do you the idea that you're snowboarding on pavement ... and not skateboarding_ Just like learning to snowboard, it can take hours, days or even a week to really understand how it works, and make you truly happy. Be patient, be ready to fall a few times. You'll get there soon, and past this first stage you will progress quickly

Rider safety :

    • ALWAYS wear a helmet
    • When it starts, it is important to bear in addition, other protections: wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads
    • Always keep its presses on the upstream edge (top)
    • Check his board before riding: Is tight or in what state of wear are the wheels
    • Always be aware of the level, and still stay in control.

Find a suitable place to start :

    • Smooth bitumen and no cracks or bumps.

    • Place wide enough and not dangerous.

    • Not too steep, but it is absolutely the slope! (Try to learn snowboarding on the flat ... impossible)

    • No traffic

Learning to carve:

    • Check that the central wheels are properly adjusted: the board must have a basculo effect of about 2cm to start (a finger)
    • Do not tighten your trucks. Having your back slightly tighter truck before the truck can help to get started.
    • Adjust your bindings so its stall on the board centered foot (not too much on tiptoes oron the heels too_
    • Go down the slope, trying to make wide turns_ Relax, bend your knees, and try to be specific about your support: do not put too much weight on its edge to turn. Do not be all on the back foot, stay centered 2 feet.

    • Stay off and feel the passage from one edge to the other (for support on tiptoes to support on the heels)_
Initiate a turn comem carved in it just now, but try to close to the maximum, at the end of the turn, align your shoulders to the top of the slope, this will trigger a small slips

    • Do not overtighten and bend your knees_
Do not put your weight on the downstream edge (down)_ The "edge-fault" brutally arrested on board

    • Be careful not to put too much on the back, it is very hard to slip when you have too much weight on the back foot!
As a beginner, do not try to stay balanced on the drive wheels, several months of practice are necessary to get to do a "straight" on the plants. (You have to be very precise on his feet)

Other tips :

    • The more you have rocker (basculo), the easier it is to slip ... But for a beginner, this makes the board has a weird behavior at low speed and stop. Most beginners prefer to so quite a few rocker (near central wheel of the plate), for the low-speed comfortable. As you progress, most riders like to have a big rocker.
    • After you're comfortable with both turning and stopping, play with the settings to find those that work best for you (more or less tight trucks ...)_ But beware, do not spend too much time playing with the settings until you know drag and slow ... Keep patience and persevere if you can not.
    • If, when you want to initiate a glide, turn 180 °, this is often because you are too far forward_ Try as much weight on the front foot and back foot on the

Wheel wear :

    • Gradually, as your side wheels wear down, adjust your center wheels closer to the plate, so as to keep a "basculo" constant.
    • Most riders use an edge more than the other. Exchange your wheels X (right front wheel, the left back etc) to even wear.
    • To avoid food on wheels, avoid stop you from putting the board 90 °, stop you from several slip to rotate your wheels during gliding.
    • Harder wheels (82A) slide easier, last longer and require less Flatspot_ more moles wheels (78A) hang better, but wear faster_
